It also comes with an easy-to-use app.

To configure this bot, you need to plug it into its base and connect it to your Wi-Fi network at home. Once you've done that then the Neato app walks you through an initial configuration (linking to Wi-Fi and calling the D4 and so on.). When the D4 is fully charged it's possible to start a cleaning cycle.

Once the D4 is running it lets you create a schedule either automatically or manually at any point. You can also control it with your voice via Google Home or Amazon Alexa. If you have an Apple Watch, you can start cleaning with a simple tap on the wrist.

In our tests this model was able to clean well on both hard and carpeted flooring and picked up 91.3 percent of the debris in serpentine pathways. It's not quite as good at cleaning edges and corners as higher-end models. The side sensors of the D4 keep it approximately 1.5 inches away from walls. And it lacks the side-sweeping brushes on all but the cheapest robotic cleaners. Furthermore, its raised turret means it can't fit under low-clearance furniture. It does have virtual No-Go Lines, so you can draw red lines on your floor plan and tell the D4 to stay away from that area. Its 75-minute battery life is about average, too. 3. iRobot 985

The Roomba 995 is iRobot’s least expensive vacuum, with recharge and resume. However, it does not have the auto-empty feature that the I6+ or I7 offer. It lacks the iAdapt navigation 2.0 and the camera used by the I7 to locate objects and avoid obstructions. It's not able to access features like in-app containment, or save maps.

It also has low profile, which allows it to get under couches and tables. It can also recharge on its dock when it is required.
