Albums

The discography of the American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and a number of compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band performed session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggs’ 1975 album Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for the absence of hit singles. In 1985, singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group and the band held auditions for the new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by scouring through demos and tapes from the past to release a special edition called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans and Toto began an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck took over Leland Sklar as the drummer during the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set called Falling in Between, which included recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the band.
