Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet style of previous albums and was a more powerful, constant effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The more edgy sound of the album was indicative of the maturation of group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's greater ability on the drums and a more mature, confident vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's work was more refined, sharper and less cloned previously recorded recordings.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live performance in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. A new studio album was released just a few months later and the band embarked on an extensive world tour to promote it. By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity.
