Volvo Key Fob Troubleshooting

Volvo drivers love the remote control features of their key fob. With a smartphone app they can lock and unlock the vehicle as well as start the engine and even locate it.

First, put the fob of the key on a clean work surface with the logo facing upward. Locate the button that releases it, place an object between the cover and the fob and pull it up slowly.

Locking the Doors

Closing the Windows

One of the lesser-known features that is not visible on Volvo key fobs is that they allow you to roll down all of the windows immediately when you use the fobs. This is great when you're trying to squeeze into a cramped parking spot, or even just when you're in need of fresh air in your cabin while driving.

To unlock the windows simply press and hold the unlock button on your Volvo remote for four seconds. This will lower all of the windows, and the sunroof, if your car has one. When you're done with your vehicle, you can close all the windows by pressing the lock key again for four seconds.

You can also use your key fob to turn on your car's panic alarm. This will emit a loud, attention-grabbing blare which can deter thieves and help you get home in peace after a night out. This feature is helpful when you reside in a hazardous area, or want to keep your family safe while away from home.

Opening the Tailgate

Volvo has packed its key fobs with a variety of useful features. They are great when you're working on grocery shopping or helping your kids to pack their sports gear after a workout.

For instance, if you have the Hands-Free Power Liftgate with logo projection and adjustable height (if equipped) you can open it using the key fob. Press the button to open it, then press the same button to close it once you're done.

When you're in the mood to start your car then use the key fob to press the START button (and don't be concerned about your battery dying or your car not starting because it comes with a backup mechanical key slot as well). Turning off the Alarm
