Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or running. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily, even in tight spaces.

For a smooth ride, go for a pram with air-filled tyres. Also, look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. However, they are prone to punctures, so make sure you are prepared with an repair kit.

Sturdy frame

New data show that three-wheeled buggies, that symbol of the decade that were more expensive than common sense, are in steep decline. Four-wheelers are replacing them, and are more flexible and simple to drive, while also looking stylish.

The larger the wheels are the better your buggy will cope with bumpy and uneven pavements. The larger wheels on both the front and back makes it much easier to manoeuvre and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy with a newborn and 3 year old and found it coped well with grass, cobbles rough roads, dirt tracks, and kerbs. She said "it is sturdy to push and very solid when going over difficult terrain. The tyres, that are inflatable and need to be pumped regularly they have suspension built-in. This was extremely comfortable for my kids.

Another thing to consider is the size of the seat and shape. It should be large enough for your child's comfort and you will also require it to recline to allow them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies offer a full lie-flat option while others allow an adult facing one.

The Roma Atlas is a great option for off-road and walking in muddy areas. The buggy can be used as a single from the beginning and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family expands. I was also impressed with the way it dealt with kerbs using the hand-operated break. I found it to be extremely steady when I was driving downhill or on uneven ground."

The only downside of this incredible maneuverability is that the 3 wheel buggy's larger wheels sometimes mean it has to struggle in tight spaces - something to keep in mind if you live in a urban area. If this is the case then a four-wheeled buggy might be the better option for you.
