If you're on a budget and don't want a stroller that doubles up as car seat carriers the Babyzen Yoyo is a good choice. It has a simple, one-step foot brake that's flip flop friendly.

It's also a breeze to push and feels solid in navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the ultimate lightweight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, thanks to its extremely nimble handling and fold-down that fits into the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. This latest version features independent suspension on all four wheels comprised of Hytrel elastomer, allowing it to perfectly traverse all terrains and types'.

The YOYO2 frame base along with the curved fabric bassinet and six-month color pack combine to make a stylish and elegant pushchair that is easy on the eye with a subtle yet elegant design and a tasteful branding. The base frame weighs less than a kilo, and is so lightweight that you can lift it out of the box with one hand.

The hood, for instance snaps onto the YOYO2 with a reassuring manner. It is also machine washable at 30deg which helps avoid staining caused by smushed and mashed rice cakes and carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram right from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to stroller at 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great choice for parents who want an adaptable stroller wagon. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be transformed from a stroller to the wagon by turning the handle. Parents can then choose which one is the best fit for their adventure. The wagon can accommodate two or more children between 6 months to 5 years old. It has a large storage basket that can hold all your necessities when you are on the move.

The Xplore has two canopies that are able to rotate from front to back, ensuring adequate sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footprint than some wagons. This may not be ideal for long drives or napping.

The frame of the Xplore wagon is solid and sturdy, but it does not flex as much as some other wagons we have tested. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold and it isn't able to lock securely once folded. It is easy to maneuver however, and can be able to fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great option for parents looking for a second stroller that's priced reasonably. It was awarded an impressive score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and folded size, which means it's very light, compact when folded and easy to put into a trunk of a car or closet. It also offers a multi-position reclining seat and a parent cup holder. Other features worth mentioning include two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling and 360-degree front wheels that absorb shock.

In our test of push and turn it performed better than the majority of other strollers of a similar price we test, but it's not the most maneuverable on uneven ground or through doorways that are narrow. The sunshades it has were among the tiniest of strollers we tested. They only cover the top single strollers, and do not feature peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a much larger canopy.

It took us less than 3 minutes to put together the Delta with a standard manual. The parts are all non-required and required tools. It's lacking certain features we believe are essential for a double stroller. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and leg rests that can be adjusted.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The seat reclines with one hand, and the large shopping basket makes it simple for parents to get their child in and out. This narrow pushchair single handled every day bumps and doors effortlessly.

The front wheels can be locked in forward positions or let them swivel which is helpful when traversing rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to swivel while walking along the stony path. It was able to handle this well, although it seemed to be a bit more bumpy.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is most famous for its 3-wheeled, all-terrain strollers that jog. But they also manufacture a vast variety of pushchairs that have four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most loved model. It is easy to fold and can fit into the boot of a car even with a carrycot attached.

It is heavier than the other strollers that we tried, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber it feels sturdy and well-made. It maneuvers expertly across different kinds of terrain, and it's easy to carry, even when loaded with two kids and a shopping bag.

Both the seat and carrycot have hoods that can be removed to reveal a UV50and sun canopy extension. They are durable and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back into toddlers faces.

It does not have much storage space, but it does have an ample basket that is deep enough to accommodate a changing bag or plenty of groceries. It can also be used with the Baby Jogger car seat for infants who weigh 20 pounds or less (car seat and adapters are available separately). If you are looking for a stroller that can be used on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was an infant stroller that captivated the hearts of a lot of parents when it first came out. It's a frame made of aluminum that will see you through your baby's initial days and beyond. It comes with a variety of stand-out features including the possibility of flipping the seat from parent to world-facing, a large UPF 50+ canopy that has a flip out eyeshade and a spacious basket as well as an adjustable handlebar.

The chassis is equipped with an integrated suspension system which reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made of tough foam and reduce punctures. It was simple to push, and our tester was able to maneuver the vehicle through the narrow streets.

It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It also stands and can be rolled around for easier transportation in the boot of your car or down the stairs at home. It also comes travel system ready with the option to add a car seat and a carrycot using the adaptors that come with it. The brakes are simple to use with single umbrella stroller action, colour coded and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is easy to use and comes with an excellent dual suspension. It can be folded using just one hand, and comes with a handy carrying strap. It's also very light and sturdy. The seat can be reclined in many positions and comes with a built-in double breathable mattress that's suitable from birth.

The canopy/seat features two extra-large fixed or flip out sun visors. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't ideal as it’s not as quiet as Velcro, and can cause sleepy babies to wake up.

The Duet is a side-by-side stroller and can be configured to accommodate twins or siblings (up to 22kg maximum per seat). It can be used with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode the seats can be placed so that they face each the other. They can also be oriented towards the parents. This should lessen sibling fights about who sits with mom and dad. It has a huge bottle holder, gear tray snack tray, and the ability to change mats. It also has an automated frame lock and a superior compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger for parents who want to keep active. It's among the lightest running strollers you can purchase for your child. It comes with excellent safety features such as five-point harnesses and a secure wrist strap. It comes with a different kind of hand brake than other models that is a twist.

The seat is comfortable and has a wide area to sit in, but the depth of the seat is lower than other joggers we've tested (it's approximately 10"). The storage bin is equipped with an enclosed zipper to help keep items safe. It can hold 10 lbs. It is enough for the majority of diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters to fit most infant car seats and bassinets however, you can use them from the first day with adapters that will fit brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It's easy to fold and assemble within 5-10 minutes, without tools. The instruction manual is simple to understand and is available in multiple languages.
